Background

The frustration with the usual brake methods coupled with a more timorous character and limited acrobatic skills was the driver of this development. There are plenty of patents regarding alternative brake systems that have been filed worldwide, even though less of them would prove effective in practice. The main producers of inline skates know that the market for fast skates with a new brake system is very small and risky. New product lines are costly.

My target had been to develop an optimal braking system that could be produced for interested skaters in small series. Modern production techniques like Laser Cutting, CNC Bending and 3D Printing for plastic parts had been chosen to produce a constant quality. However the costs per unit are higher then they are with techniques for mass production.

Details have been optimized continuously so that an efficient and robust system can be offered to you now.
